Skagit River September 2019

We had a wonderful breakfast at Rolleys before heading up the Silverhope Rd to 26 mile bridge on the Skagit. Got to the bridge and there was ample water flow to simply head upstream from there. Crossings were easy but the morning had been cold. The three of us (Steve N., Jim W. and Rick B.) were only able to get two fish in this section with Rick getting a beauty. At lunch Steve had to head home for a birthday party and Rick and Jim decided to head for Rhododendron flats. As the day warmed up so did the fishing. First to Thumpers and then when we got to the long glides with both switched to Griffiths Knats. The fish were cooperating and several large Rainbows obliged. By about 3: 30 we headed back up to the upper pool and caught a few more. This was a magnificent fall day that we will remember for a long time.
